Professional Background

Ian is currently DBA Research Director at Edinburgh Business School. He has an MA in
Economics and Statistics from St Andrews University and is Sloan Fellow of the London Business School, where he graduated with a PhD in
International Business. He is also a fellow of scenario-planning consultancy, SAMI.
As Professor of International Management he directed the European School of Management in Oxford. He created the Executive MBA at Cass
Business School in London, now one of the top part-time MBAs in Europe, and he also directed executive programmes at the London Business School.

International Strategy and Marketing |
His experience extends from international strategy and marketing to business ethics and he has a specialist interest in Corporate Governance.
He has chaired special interest sessions on the workings of the board at the Annual International Conference on Corporate Governance and
Board Effectiveness at Henley Management College.

Ethics, regulation and globalisation |
Ian is currently working on a project about Ethics, Regulation and Globalisation at the Centre for Business Research, University of Cambridge.
He published papers on these issues including ‘Understanding how Issues in Corporate Governance Develop: Cadbury Report to Higgs Review’
and ‘How do multinationals build Social Capital? Evidence from Poland.’ Ian has also co-edited two books
' The Role of Business Ethics in Economic Performance' and 'Understanding how Issues in Business Ethics Develop'.
